Inktober Day 9: Don't Pay the Ferryman!

In Greek mythology, Charon is the ferryman who guides souls across the river Styx in the underworld of Hades. Don't panic — he's just drifting past. Waiting oh. So. Patiently.

Inktober Day 8: "Young Frankenstein"

I could quote the classic Mel Brooks film Young Frankenstein all day and night: "Put the candle back!" "Taffeta, darling!" "My grandfather's work was doo-doo!" And, my favorite: "Sedagive?!"

But instead, I'll let Kyle's Inktober drawing speak for itself.

Inktober Day 5: Just a Nibble!

If there's one thing Inktober needs, it's a little bit of vampire. (Here's where a garlic necklace would come in handy!)

Inktober #4 — "Heeeeere's Johnny!"

Today's Inktober picture pays tribute to poor Jack Torrance, as played by Jack Nicholson in The Shining. We like to imagine he's still hanging around the old Overlook Hotel, clicking away on his typewriter: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

Inktober #3 — "Time to Play!"

Kids, close your eyes a minute. Things are about to get scary! For today's Inktober drawing, Kyle paid tribute to Pinhead, one of our favorite horror movie bad guys, from the movie Hellraiser. Don't worry — Smash wouldn't let this creep get within a foot of any of you!

Inktober #2 — "The Monster Returns"

For Kyle's second Inktober picture, he paid tribute to a modern classic: Bernie Wrightson's illustrations for Frankenstein. We used to pore over our copy of this book when we were younger, and Wrightson's stunning illustrations were a major early influence for Kyle's artwork.
