Today's the day when SMASH 2: FEARLESS comes crashing into the world—along with the paperback edition of our first book, SMASH: TRIAL BY FIRE!
We're so excited to share the second long-awaited adventure with the world and we hope you all enjoy it.
Hard to believe we're only ONE WEEK AWAY from the publication of SMASH 2: FEARLESS! As we count down the days, here's a 10-page sneak preview from the book.
With SMASH 2: FEARLESS so close to publication, we want you to meet some of the brand-new bad guys who will make life difficult for our fifth-grade superhero. You already met Derby. Now here's BULLET!
Zeke Huston is a small-time crook who's tired of living from one botched robbery to the next.
So, he hires the nefarious scientist Dr. Cobb to build him a super-suit so Zeke can make the leap into the big-time supervillain category.
The problem is, Zeke doesn't exactly have the money to pay for his new suit, so he plans on stealing it.
But he didn't plan on having to get past Dr. Cobb's very large assistant, Brute! (More on him next time.)
Before SMASH 2: FEARLESS comes out, we'd like to introduce you to some of the brand-new villains who make life difficult for our kid hero. First up: DERBY!
Mary-Ellen Wishaw is a former superstar of roller derby who was caught cheating and kicked out of her league.
Hoping to use her skating skills for personal gain, she hired the villainous scientist Dr. Cobb to construct a pair of mechanical legs that would give her super strength and speed.
Now she's embarking on a life of crime, confident that no one can catch her!
As you can see, she's ready to give Smash a run for her money!
How does it end up? Find out in SMASH 2: FEARLESS—on sale everywhere May 8th, 2018!
... and here's a bit of what Kirkus Reviews has to say:
The ensuing action is fast, furious, and interrupted only occasionally by scenes at home and the introduction of Jae Kim, a smart and lively new Korean-American classmate....[Smash] continues to lead a diverse and expressively drawn cast. Brisk, nonstop, chock-full of awesome exploits.
